About the Chapter

Welcome to Hampton Roads!

Our region hosts seven major defense Headquarters Commands and major operating bases supporting more than 100,000 active duty Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard personnel making it the home of one of the largest collections of military commands in the world and three AFCEA chapters serving them. This diverse military community offers unique opportunities for developing joint and combined C5ISR doctrine and applications, making Hampton Roads an important partner in our nation's defense.

The AFCEA Hampton Roads Chapter is located in the Southside portion of Hampton Roads and is home to U.S. Fleet Forces Command, the Joint Staff in Suffolk, NATO's Allied Command Transformation, Marine Corps Forces Command, Naval Information Forces in Suffolk, Virginia as well as Naval Base Norfolk, Naval Air Station Oceana, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story, Dam Neck Annex Oceana Naval Air Station, USCG Fifth Coast Guard District and Hampton Roads Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps.

The AFCEA Hampton Roads Chapter meets monthly to offer an opportunity for networking and an exchange of information and ideas in an open, ethical environment that fosters close cooperation and understanding between the military, civil service, and industry. Our meetings and activities are open to members and non-members alike. Our Community focus in collaboration with local universities, industry associations and other AFCEA entities provides for an information exchange that leads to enhancement of our current and next generation forces in knowledge and STEM.
